Burning Man 2014 – Caravansary
The theme for Burning Man 2014 was “Caravansary”, which was inspired by the Silk Route’s network of oases and sanctuaries. The Burning Man community created a bazaar , where travelers from all over the world could come together to share their stories and cultures. A place of cultural exchange, where treasures from every land and age flowed in and out to be flaunted, lost, exploited, and discovered. This was not a tourist destination, but a home for travelers who came bearing gifts. Participants were able to pose as merchants and customers, and the only thing of value in this marketplace was one’s interaction with a fellow human being.
